    1.Application (mainly for 30–100 kDa medium-molecular-weight molecules):Purification of proteins with molecular weight of 30–100 kDa.

    2.Separation of macromolecular complexes/fragments:protein aggregates over 100 kDa, viral particles, large nucleic acid fragments (e.g., crude plasmid extraction), antibody fragments (Fab / F(ab')₂).

Q: How to store used QAE Sephadex A-50 ?

A: 1.Used resin shall be stored sealed at 4 ℃ in well-ventilated, dry and clean place, with 20% ethanol as storage solution. Do not freeze.

2.Used chromatography columns shall be stored at 4 ℃ in 20% ethanol solution.

3.Unused product should be kept tightly sealed at room temperature.

Q: How to choose between QAE Sephadex A-25 and QAE Sephadex A-50?

A: 1.If the sample molecular weight ≤ 30 kDa (polypeptides, oligonucleotides, small molecular proteins), choose A-25 (small pore, high charge density, cost-effective).

2.If the sample molecular weight is 30–100 kDa (medium-sized proteins, enzymes, antibody fragments), choose A-50 (large pore, high binding capacity, suitable for process scale-up).

3.For samples > 100 kDa (macromolecules, viruses, plasmids), A-50 is preferred (mainly adsorbed on the particle surface with acceptable capacity).
